At the end of this webinar participants, will be able to:
- Describe how colonization and systemic religious oppression historically disrupted Indigenous and Afro-Latinx spiritual practices and identity.
- Identify at least three clinical presentations of spiritual fragmentation and intergenerational cultural trauma commonly seen in Latinx clients.
- Differentiate between culturally sanctioned ancestral/spiritual practices (e.g., curanderismo, espiritismo) and areas that fall outside a clinician's scope of practice.
- Apply a cultural humility framework to assess and explore spirituality and ancestral practice with Latinx clients in session.
- Evaluate ethical considerations (including referral criteria and the risk of appropriation) when integrating spiritual content into treatment.
